Gain knobs for decks A and B control key. (Shift+Gain controls Gain.)
Shift+Gain knobs for decks C and D control FX type of units 1 and 2 in single mode.
Browse button turns off monitor, load buttons additionally turn off browse mode, turn off the track preview, and activate the appropriate monitor channel. |
How many times have I been clicking shift+FX button to select the effect I want, missed it, then had to flick through every effect to find it again. Decoders are a much nicer way of doing this as you can flick in both directions. Shift+decks C & D gain knobs.
When I enter browse mode, I always preview tracks, so I want the monitoring of the decks turned off. I usually forget and have to flick back to play mode to disable the monitoring. With this mapping browse now turns off the monitoring on A or B.
When I load a track, I always want to leave browse mode, turn off the track preview in the browser, and activate monitoring on the deck I have just loaded into. The load buttons now do this.
Sorry for combining two disparate ideas in one mapping but I'll make mistakes if I separate them.
Sorry also for my previous mapping "loop backwards" - it worked perfectly the first few sets I used it in, then started failing. It depended on the user mappings being triggered before the default ones, however the sequencing is random so this mapping was faulty and unfixable. Real shame - I think the only way of doing this is by translating one MIDI signal into several sequenced ones using eg, MIDI-OX. See the (unfortunately undetailed) article on djtechtools on this.
McBadderson's fixes applied now, thanks McB! |
